- This standard specifies the method for determining the uncombined carbon content in cast iron using the infrared absorption method after combustion in a high-frequency induction furnace. This standard is applicable to the determination of uncombined carbon with a content of 1.0%~3.0% (mass fraction) in cast iron. This standard does not apply to the determination of uncombined carbon in alloy cast iron with a chromium content exceeding 2%.
