Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining the mode II fracture toughness of unidirectional fiber reinforced plastic composites by the calibrated end load splitting test (C-ELS) and the effective crack length method. This standard applies to carbon fiber or glass fiber reinforced thermoset and thermoplastic composite materials. The scope of application of this standard is not limited to these types of fibers and layup methods, and other types of fiber or laminated laminates can be used by reference.
