Scope

This document specifies the methods for direct inspection and indirect inspection of Leeb hardness testers (hereinafter referred to as hardness testers) according to GB/T17394.1. Direct inspection is suitable for checking whether the performance parameters of the hardness tester are within the specified range. The indirect test is to use the hardness value of the standard Leeb hardness block calibrated according to GB/T17394.3 to check the overall performance of the durometer in the direction of gravity. Indirect testing can be independently applied to regular routine inspections of hardness testers in service. This document applies to durometers with impact devices of types D, S, E, D+15, DL, C and G.
