Scope

This practical guideline provides information about the relationship between the function of a workpiece surface and the roughness value Ra, Ry, flp, etc. (see NPR 3633). It applies to determining the permissible value of the roughness of workpiece surfaces made of metal and, to a lesser extent, of other materials such as plastics, ceramic materials, etc.
