- This document specifies the hydrogen nuclear magnetic spectrometry method for the determination of phenyl and vinyl content in phenyl silicone rubber raw rubber. This document applies to applications consisting of dimethylsiloxy chain units -Me2SiO-, diphenylsiloxy chain units -Ph2SiO- or methylphenylsiloxy chain units -MePhSiO- and a small amount of methylvinylsiloxy chain units -MeViSiO - Consisting of high molecular weight polysiloxane gum. This document is applicable to the determination of phenyl silicone rubber raw rubber with a phenyl content of not less than 3% and a vinyl content of not less than 0.1%. Note: Samples with phenyl and vinyl contents outside the above ranges can also be tested by this method after reasonable verification.
