- Scope
- This standard specifies the general requirements for ultrasonic testing of cableway drive axles, testing methods and testing procedures, and evaluation of testing results. This standard is applicable to the ultrasonic testing of in-service forged steel drive axles from the end face using the ultrasonic pulse reflection method. Other in-service forged-rolled axles can also be used as a reference. This standard does not apply to austenitic coarse-grained steel drive axles.
