Scope: This document specifies the requirements for all test dummies greater than or equal to 25kg used for wheelchair testing, the characteristics of the loading pads that support each body part of the dummy, and gives the position of the overall center of mass of the dummy and the various bodies that make up the dummy. Calculation formulas for the mass of the parts and the position of the rotation axis connecting these body parts, as well as informative tables of the dummy mass and center of mass position calculated from the formula and corresponding test dummy examples (mass increments of 25kg up to 300kg) . This document is suitable for use as a loading test dummy for manual wheelchairs and electric wheelchairs when conducting stability tests, static load strength tests, impact strength tests, and fatigue strength tests. This document does not consider mass distribution issues in persons with limb atrophy or amputations. This document anticipates that the improvement of test dummies will enable comparable results for static stability testing, performance testing and fatigue testing of manual wheelchairs and electric wheelchairs (including electric scooters). Note: The position of the center of mass of the dummy during the test is basically the same as the position of the center of mass of a person of corresponding mass sitting on a wheelchair, or the position of the center of mass of a person with a mass up to 100kg in a standing position on a standing wheelchair.
