This International Standard describes a method for determining the dry matter content of cell samples. This method applies to moist and air-dry pulps that contain no volatile components other than water at a given temperature. It is used, for example, on cell material samples for chemical and physical tests in the laboratory, which require consistent determination of the dry matter content. This procedure does not apply to the determination of the dry matter content of cell substance suspensions nor to the determination of the salable mass of cell substance batches.
