- This standard specifies the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method for the detection of parasol musk, sunflower musk, Tibetan musk, xylene musk and ketone musk in cosmetics. This standard is applicable to the determination of parasol musk, sunflower musk, Tibetan musk, xylene musk and ketone musk in cream, milk and liquid cosmetics. The detection limit and quantitation limit of this standard method: The detection limits of the five synthetic musks are 0.15 mg/kg for sunflower musk and ketone musk, and 0.10 mg/kg for cymbal musk, Tibetan musk and xylene musk. The quantitation limits of the five synthetic musks are 0.50 mg/kg for sunflower musk and ketone musk, and 0.35 mg/kg for cymbidium musk, Tibetan musk and xylene musk.
