Scope

This document describes a method for the determination of fecal coliforms in sludge using an enzymatic substrate method. This document is applicable to the determination of fecal coliforms in sludge from urban sewage treatment plants, sludge from drainage pipe excavations, and sludge derivatives. The determination of fecal coliforms in soil and sediment can refer to this method. The detection limit of this method is 10MPN/g.
