Scope

This document specifies the thermometric titration method for the determination of the acid value of oils used in electric power applications. This document is applicable to the acid value determination of mineral insulating oil, turbine oil, and phosphate ester resistant oil. The acid value determination of other oils that can be dissolved in xylene-isopropyl alcohol mixed solvent can be used as a reference.
