Scope

This standard specifies four tobacco-specific nitrosamines in tobacco and tobacco products [N-nitrosonornicotine (NNN), N-nitrosoneonicotine (NAT), and N-nitrosoequisetine (NAB), 4-(methylnitrosamino)-1-(3-pyridyl)-1-butanone (NNK)] by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. This standard applies to the determination of tobacco-specific nitrosamines (TSNAs) listed in Table 1 in tobacco and tobacco products.
