Basic nitrogen refers to some nitrogen-containing compounds that have basic groups and can accept H protons. Mainly include pyridines, quinolines, anilines, etc. The measurement principle of the alkaline nitrogen meter is similar to that of potentiometric titration. The sample is dissolved in a mixed solution of xylene-glacial acetic acid, and a perchloric acid-glacial acetic acid standard solution is used as the titrant. Record the electrode potential and titration volume to find out the equivalence point and the corresponding volume of the standard titration solution, thereby determining the content of basic nitrogen.
