- This standard specifies the conditions required for printing the word "Plan" on the objective lens, as well as the diameter of the clear area in the first image plane on the surface of a flat object. This standard applies to optical observation systems consisting of objective lenses, tube lenses and eyepieces. Specific parameters are specified by the manufacturer. This standard does not apply to describe the degree of correction of aberrations other than field curvature.
