This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification, performance requirements, test methods, inspection rules, labeling, packaging, transportation and storage of electric toothbrushes. This standard is applicable to electric toothbrushes (except ultrasonic electric toothbrushes) powered by safe extra-low voltage batteries, and is not applicable to other electric oral care appliances such as toothbrushes and interdental brushes.
