Scope

This standard applies to the image quality evaluation of high contrast black-and-white document facsimile systems. This standard has no continuous tone content@ and is composed solely of high-resolution@ high-contrast black-and-white patterns. Purpose The purpose of this standard is to provide a means for facsimile image quality assessment. Image sharpness@ scan line pitch@ character readability@ page distortion@ print density@ and transmission error effects are among the parameters that can be evaluated.
