This standard specifies the method for the determination of sodium, magnesium, iron, vanadium, nickel, copper, and lead in crude oil using organic sampling-inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometry. This standard is applicable to the determination of sodium, magnesium, iron, vanadium, nickel, copper, and lead elements in crude oil. The measurement results depend on the size of the particles contained in the crude oil. When the particles are larger than a few microns, the measurement results may be low. The determination limits of each element are shown in Table 1.
