Scope

This document specifies a method for the determination of total hardness in water using a fully automated potentiometric titration method. This document is applicable to the determination of total hardness in source water and drinking water. The minimum detection mass concentration of this method is 0.05 mg. If the water sample volume is 50 mL, the minimum detection mass concentration (calculated as CaO) of this method is 1.0 mg/L.
