- This standard specifies the general requirements for atmospheric exposure corrosion testing of protective coating (plating) layers. The materials involved include electroplating layers, metal spray coatings, hot dip coatings, oxidation and conversion coatings, organic coatings and their coating systems, and other Metal and inorganic coatings, etc. The regulations for atmospheric exposure corrosion tests not included in this standard shall be governed by the "General Rules for Atmospheric Corrosion Tests of Materials Environmental Corrosion Test Procedures".
