Scope: This document describes various methods for determining the dimensional change of vulcanized or thermoplastic rubber specimens during and after tensile loading, under constant elongation or under constant load, within a relatively short period of time. The constant elongation test is used to determine the ability of rubber to maintain its elasticity after being stretched. Stretch the rubber to a specified strain at standard laboratory temperature, maintain the strain at the same temperature or a specified higher temperature for a specified time, and then release the strain at the test temperature or standard laboratory temperature. The constant load test specifies the test method for elongation, creep and tensile permanent deformation of rubber after being subjected to a constant load at standard laboratory temperature. This document is applicable to the measurement of the elastic properties of rubber with a hardness ranging from 20IRHD to 94IRHD. The creep measurement method described in this document is not suitable for product design and evaluation of low creep materials. For such tests, ISO 8013 should be used. The test results of this test are not comparable with the ISO8013 test results. Note: The constant load test is mainly used to measure the vulcanization state and quality control of thin-walled products. An increase in the vulcanization state or degree of crosslinking is usually manifested as a decrease in permanent set, creep and elongation.
