- This document establishes the general principles for incorporating environmental factors into the plastic product standard system. This document is intended to minimize adverse environmental impacts without affecting the full suitability of the product and its intended purpose. This document provides guidance primarily for use by standards developers. In addition, this document provides guidance for those engaged in design work and others who need to consider environmental aspects of plastics. Note: This document is intended to promote the following activities: a) Use of technology to identify and assess the environmental impact of technical provisions in standards and minimize their adverse effects; b) Adoption of good practices, such as: 1) Procedures to avoid contamination, through scrapping program and its appropriate management;.
