The sample is melted with potassium pyrosulfate to separate the silicon from most other metal ions in the form of silicon dioxide, and then melted with sodium hydroxide. In the mixed acid medium of sulfur, the interference of phosphorus and arsenic heteropoly acids is eliminated, and the silicon is formed into silicon. After the molybdenum heteropoly acid is reduced, the ascorbic acid is reduced, and the absorbance is measured at a wavelength of 650 nm with a spectrophotometer to calculate the silicon content.
