- This standard specifies the non-destructive testing method for internal defects in circumferential butt welds of steel pipelines with a nominal thickness greater than or equal to 25 mm and a pipe diameter greater than or equal to 159 mm and not greater than 2000 mm. This standard is applicable to the non-destructive testing of internal defects in circumferential butt welds of carbon steel and alloy steel pipelines. It is not suitable for non-destructive testing of internal defects in circumferential butt welds of austenitic stainless steel pipelines.
