Scope

This document describes a method for conducting rolling contact fatigue tests with progressive loading of silicon nitride ceramic balls at room temperature. This document is applicable to the evaluation of the contact fatigue performance of rolling element materials, or to determine the test load for constant load rolling contact fatigue tests.
