Scope

This standard applies to lightning protection for wind turbines and component systems. standard. This standard defines the lightning environment for wind turbines and the environmental application of risk assessment for wind turbines. This standard defines requirements for protection of blades, other structural components, and electrical and control systems from direct and indirect lightning effects. Recommended test methods to verify compliance are given in this standard. Guidance on how to use the relevant lightning protection. Industrial electrical and electromagnetic compatibility standards is given in this standard, including how to ground. Guidance on personal safety is given in this standard. Guidelines on damage statistics and reporting are given in this standard.
