This document describes a test method for the determination of the aromatic content of middle distillates by high performance liquid chromatography with differential refractive index detection. This document is applicable to the determination of diesel oil containing fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) volume fraction not greater than 30%, high-wax diesel oil containing fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) volume fraction not greater than 7%, and petroleum fractions with a distillation range of 150 ℃ ~ 400 ℃ The content of single-ring aromatics, double-ring aromatics and tricyclic + aromatics in medium. The content of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons is obtained by adding the content of bicyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and tricyclic + aromatic hydrocarbons, and the content of total aromatic hydrocarbons is obtained by summing the contents of single-ring aromatic hydrocarbons, bicyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and tricyclic + aromatic hydrocarbons. This document contains two steps: Step A and Step B: Step A is suitable for the determination of single-ring aromatics and double-ring Aromatics and tricyclic + aromatics content, of which the single-ring aromatics content (mass fraction) is 6%~30%, the bicyclic aromatics content (mass fraction) is 1%-10%, and the tricyclic + aromatics content (mass fraction) is 0% ~2%, the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon content (mass fraction) is 1%~12%, and the total aromatic hydrocarbon content (mass fraction) is 7%~42%. Step B is applicable to the determination of aromatics content in high-wax diesel with fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) volume fraction not greater than 7%, and the total aromatics content (mass fraction) is 0.2% to 2%.
