Scope
This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage and safety of isopentene for industrial use. This standard is applicable to the etherification reaction between methanol and C5 in gasoline to produce methyl tert-amyl ether, which is then produced by etherolysis to produce isopenten for industrial use. This product is mainly used to produce pinacol and tert-amyl alcohol, and can also be used as an intermediate for synthetic rubber, resin and organic synthesis.
