This document specifies a method for the determination of permanent gases (hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, methane, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide) in polymeric grades of ethylene and propylene using a gas chromatograph equipped with a helium ionization detector. This document applies to hydrogen content not less than 0.1mL/m3, nitrogen content not less than 0.05mL/m3, oxygen content not less than 0.05mL/m3, methane content not less than 0.05mL/m3, carbon monoxide content not less than 0.05 mL/m3, determination of polymer grade ethylene and propylene with carbon dioxide content not less than 0.05mL/m3.
