- Scope
- This standard specifies a method for determining the mass per unit area of a thermal zinc layer on ferrous metal materials. This standard requires accurate calculation of the surface area of the specimen. Therefore, this standard is applicable to specimens whose surface area can be easily determined. If the sample is too heavy to comply with the requirements of Chapter 5 of this standard, other methods should be used to determine the quality of the hot-dip galvanized layer.
