Scope
This standard covers the test method to determine the percentage by weight of 2,6diisobutyl paracresol and 2,6diisobutyl phenol in new or used electrical insulating oils, in concentrations up to 0.5%, by recording the infrared spectrum of the oil in certain specific bands. The materials, operations and equipment used in the application of the standard may present risks. This standard is not intended to point out all the industrial safety problems related to its application. The user has the responsibility of establishing, before using it, the appropriate industrial safety and occupational health conditions and, likewise, applying current legislation in this regard.
