This standard describes general techniques for taking and preparing samples of soaps and detergents, for use in conjunction with a previously established sampling plan. This standard is applied during the manufacturing process of soaps and detergents, and in packaging (small and large packages); It does not apply when a standard has been developed for a specific product. For individual packages, this standard defines the techniques for preparing a composite sample and a final sample.
