Scope
This standard covers commercial grade hot-rolled carbon steel sheets and strips, in rolls and cut sheets having 0.15% maximum carbon, used for parts where bending, moderate forming or drawing may be required. and the soldier. This standard is not applicable for steel covered by the ICONTEC 5 standard. Hot rolled steel sheets and strips are manufactured in: Sheets in rolls and in cut sheets. From widths greater than 300 mm (12 in) up to 1 200 mm (48 in), with thicknesses from 1.2 mm (0.044 in) to 6 mm (0.230 in) when specified in thickness. When specified by weight, they are manufactured with weights greater than 35.32 kg/m2 (7,350 Ib/ft2) for widths greater than 1200 mm (48 in), and with weights greater than 47.10 kg/m2 (9,392 Ib/ft2 ) in widths from 200 mm (8 in). Straps in rolls and cut sheets. In widths up to 100 mm (4 in) with thicknesses from 0.65 mm (0.025 in) to 5.0 mm (0.2031 in). In widths greater than 100 mm (4 in) up to 200 mm (8 in) with thicknesses from 0.90 mm (0.0354 in) to 5.0 mm (0.2031 in) and in widths greater than 200 mm up to 300 mm with thicknesses from 1.2 mm (0.044 in) to 6 mm (0.230 in). This standard indicates the normalized values in both the international and English systems; However, these are not equivalent and their combination may cause inconsistencies with this standard. To distinguish the systems, the values corresponding to the English system are indicated in parentheses in the text of the standard.
