This standard establishes:
——emission flame photometric and atomic absorption methods for the determination of sodium oxide in alumina at a mass fraction from 0.05% to 1.00% and potassium oxide at a mass fraction from 0.01% to 0.60%. The methods are based on acid digestion of the sample or sintering the sample with boric acid and measuring the radiation intensity or atomic absorption of sodium at a wavelength of 589.0 nm and potassium at a wavelength of 766.5 nm;
——atomic absorption method for determining calcium oxide at a mass fraction from 0.003% to 0.100%;
——flame photometric method for determining alkalinity (the sum of sodium and potassium oxides in terms of sodium oxide) of alumina at a mass fraction from 0.03% to 0.80%. The method is based on the determination of sodium and potassium oxides in a solution obtained after boiling alumina in water;
——polarographic method for determining zinc oxide - with a mass fraction of zinc oxide from 0.001% to 0.040%;
——atomic absorption method for determining zinc oxide - with a mass fraction of zinc oxide from 0.002% to 0.040%. - method of atomic emission spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma for determining the content of the sum of sodium oxide and potassium oxide in terms of sodium oxide, calcium oxide and zinc oxide at a mass fraction of the sum of sodium oxide and potassium oxide in terms of sodium oxide from 0.01% to 1 .00%, with a mass fraction of calcium oxide from 0.003% to 0.100% and with a mass fraction of zinc oxide from 0.0001% to 0.0400%
