- This standard specifies a method for determining the sec-butyl acetate content in automotive gasoline using gas chromatography. This standard is suitable for the determination of automotive gasoline samples with a sec-butyl acetate content of 0.3% (volume fraction) to 10.0% (volume fraction). Samples with a sec-butyl acetate content exceeding 10.0% (volume fraction) can be measured by this standard method after dilution with isooctane, but its precision has not yet been calculated.
