- This document provides guidance on the four-point bend test for evaluating the resistance to stress corrosion cracking of metals including carbon steels, low alloy steels and corrosion resistant alloys. This document gives guidance on testing of base metals and welds, and includes test procedures applicable to metals with no apparent and apparent yield points in stress-strain behavior. This document is a general method for the four-point bending test. Due to the diversity of service environments, relevant standards can be referred to in appropriate cases.
