Scope: 1.1 This standard applies to domestic and commercial musical instruments and accessories with AC power supply and rated voltage equal to or less than 300V. The power supply circuit should comply with the "National Electrical Regulations". 1.2 Musical instruments include: organs, electronic pianos, music synthesizers, and other similar products that produce music under the direct control of the performer. 1.3 This standard also applies to accessories used with musical instruments, such as rhythm generators and in-machine tone generators, speakers, tuners, and similar equipment. 1.4 This standard does not apply to commercial audio equipment, such as amplifiers, mixers and general-purpose signal processors; or special effects equipment, amplifiers-speakers, etc. used by professional and semi-professional musicians. 1.5 This standard does not apply to electrically driven toys and musical instruments that fall within the scope of the requirements of UL 696 "Electrical Toys".
