- This part specifies the safety testing requirements and other related requirements for lithium-ion batteries. This part specifies the minimum requirements and corresponding test methods for the safety of lithium-ion batteries. This section deals with lithium-ion batteries in the field of chemistry. Each electrochemical pair during the discharge process has a specific discharge voltage range as well as typical nominal voltage and end-of-discharge voltage. To avoid confusion, testing of lithium battery packs is outside the scope of this standard. This section applies to the testing of safety testing requirements for lithium-ion batteries.
