- Part 3 is a supplement to Part 1 and specifies measurement methods applicable to digitally modulated satellite communications earth stations. The purpose of this part is to give recommended measurement methods for satellite communications earth stations and their associated subsystems in order to evaluate their main performance, and it is to be used in conjunction with Part 1. When measurements common to terrestrial radio relays and satellite communications earth stations are required, refer to the corresponding standards in Part 1. Each standard in Part 3 gives those parameters or measurement methods that are applicable only to satellite communications earth stations.
