This standard specifies the method for measuring the bending strength and ruggedness of straight bone plates. Including terms and definitions, instruments and equipment, test procedures, result calculations, and inspection reports. This standard applies to straight plates, straight portions of angled plates, and plates with a small initial bend in order to preload the bone during installation. This standard does not apply to plates less than 50 mm in length, nor to plates designed for use with or as part of an intramedullary device. "
