- This standard specifies that program-controlled switches with ISDN functions monitor the basic status and performance of the basic rate access digital field using metal symmetrical line pairs in the running state through the ISDN basic rate user access interface ('U' interface). The necessary monitoring functions and capabilities (online monitoring). These include: (1) The connection status between the ISDN basic rate Category 1 network terminal (NT1) and the subscriber line; (2) The activation/deactivation function of the basic rate access digital field; (3) ISDN basic access user digital transmission System transmission quality; (4) ISDN basic access user number field transmission system transmission interruption indication; (5) Power supply working status. This standard is one of the basis for the selection, network access detection, and operation of program-controlled switches with ISDN functions and related supporting equipment (for example: NT1, NT1+, etc.).
