Scope

This standard specifies the strength requirements, test methods and inspection rules for static load and dynamic load (fatigue) tests of brake beams. This standard is mainly applicable to newly manufactured triangular brake beams (i.e. bow-type brake beams) for railway freight car bogies and new straight plate brake beams for passenger car bogies.
