- This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality certificates for weathering steel manual welding rods and solid welding wires (hereinafter referred to as welding rods and welding wires) used for welding railway rolling stock. This standard applies to the steel materials listed in TB1979 (Technical conditions for weather-resistant steel plates (strips) for railway vehicles), and also applies to other weather-resistant steel materials with equivalent strength levels.
