Scope

This standard specifies the tipping and overturning test method for petroleum exploration and development instruments. This standard applies to instruments of small and medium size and weight which may be subject to rough handling and only to hazardous corners and surfaces subject to such treatment. Usually the test objects are field instruments and spare parts that require frequent transportation, loading, unloading and maintenance. If these instruments and parts become part of a permanent installation, this test does not need to be performed. This standard does not apply to unprotected vulnerable equipment and irregularly shaped instruments and spare parts. This standard is used simultaneously with the standard SY/T 5203 "General Principles for Basic Environmental Testing of Petroleum Exploration and Development Instruments".
