Scope

This standard specifies the acid titration method for the determination of total alkalinity bicarbonate and carbonate in water. This method is suitable for general non-turbid, low-color ground water. Calculations for bicarbonate and carbonate are only applicable to water samples containing only hydroxide, bicarbonate and carbonate to form alkalinity.
