- This standard specifies the graphic symbols and usage rules for marine navigation radar equipment. It is applicable to the panels, consoles and various components of the equipment. It is used to instruct operators to understand the functions, uses and operating methods of various switches and controllers. The graphical symbols 4.1 to 4.23 of this standard are identical to the Annex "Navigation Radar Equipment Control Symbols" of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) resolution [Haida 278 (VIIIth session)]. This annex was reconfirmed in the 1982 IMO publication. The eight graphic symbols 4.24 to 4.31 in this standard are added based on actual needs.
