Scope

This method uses a metallographic microscope with appropriate magnification to directly observe and measure the coating thickness of the cross-section of the part. It can be used to measure the thickness of various coatings on different substrates, but the measurement accuracy will be reduced when the coating is thin. This method can achieve the best absolute measurement accuracy of ±0.8 microns.
