- This standard specifies the terms and definitions, labeling, compostability requirements, test methods, inspection rules and markings, packaging, transportation, and storage of compostable plastic sheets. This standard applies to biodegradable plastic sheets (hereinafter referred to as sheets) formed from biodegradable materials. These materials include natural and/or synthetic polymers or mixtures thereof, as well as biodegradable materials containing additives such as plasticizers, pigments or other compounds.
