- This standard specifies the classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage and manufacturer's warranty of grounding strip lights. This standard applies to flat touchdown strip lights on Category I or Category I precision approach runways in civil airports. Touchdown zone lights use light signals to provide aircraft on approach and landing with information on the location of the touchdown zone on the runway in poor visibility conditions.
