- This standard specifies the labeling, classification, selection basis, technical requirements, and test methods of chromium, nickel, and zinc surface coatings for electroplating on sewing machine parts. This standard applies to sewing machine electroplated parts (hereinafter referred to as "plated parts") as protective and decorative metal substrates. Other coatings, plating types and/or engineering electroplated quilt parts should also be used with reference.
