Scope
This standard specifies the principle, specimen, testing machine, test procedure and measurement, calculation of fracture mechanics parameters and test report for instrumented impact on pre-cracked Charpy specimens of metallic materials and evaluation of their fracture toughness by means of fracture mechanics. This standard applies to the determination of impact fracture toughness of Charpy specimens with pre-cracked metal materials.
